I went to see a psychic and this is what he asked...
I went to see a psychic by the name of San Dan Yee, aka, Erwin Rosenthal (I think that is worth a grin) some 20 plus years ago and I want to share something that transpired because of a simple question he asked.
“Jude, do you want to live an ordinary life or an extraordinary one?”
For a nanosecond I was stumped! Why was I was tripping myself up by this simple query? It’s always pretty amazing how many questions can barrel through ones’ mind at certain times with a lot of them qualifying as irrational beliefs!
However, in my case, the hesitation came out of not feeling a deep sense of worthiness or entitlement. Me, to have an extraordinary life? Who am I to have…?
After slowly waking up from my momentary hibernation and plethora of mind f’s rummaging around in the hamster wheel of my mind, I mustered up the answer that I felt appropriate. “Extraordinary, of course!” I replied. Yet, deep inside I was still not so convinced whether this answer was my truth or was I answering out of wishful thinking or was this not to embarrass myself.
Was living an ordinary life enough for me? Wow! What I did know for sure was that I had some serious work to do on my self-esteem!
6 Steps to Building Self-Esteem
Clearly, it has taken a concerted effort over many years since then, chock full of total dedication and commitment in learning new tools and techniques in how to master my everyday existence with new awareness and a new ownership to living a more abundant life and loving me a whole lot more!
I practiced learning to recognize and listen my true inner knowing and am now becoming most familiar in continually practicing to recognize how inner growth and honor to my worthiness can change my perception of reality for the greater good.
All internal work takes a ‘unique-to-you’ kind of obedience. With practice and dedication, we can learn to redirect our ordinary, repetitious thinking/feeling into how we truly hope/dream/desire to live a more appealing life. Little shifts in our beliefs can emerge as a gift from the heavens when erring on the positive side of life!
Below I will share 6 important steps that I committed to, applied and pretty much own today with daily reminders-to-Self. I hope they will escort and help motivate you in being mindful of your day to day as you move towards living a bigger and richer life, one of which is most deserving.
Believe that you can have it all.
Focus on what you are deeply passionate about.
Don’t compare yourself to anyone else.
Change the idea of being a perfectionist to progressionist.
Think out of the box then stop thinking and start feeling.
Practice the art of positive self-talk.
In next week’s LA life coaching blog, I will go into a more detailed explanation as to how to utilize these steps while approaching your commitment with enthusiasm and childlike wonder.
