YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE
YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE

It’s prevalent in most businesses when there is a top producer who gets all the accolades from the manager in a weekly or monthly group meeting a lot of mixed emotions percolate from others in the room some of which may look like jealousy, regret, frustration, etc.
If you are already a good and confident person and producer, then you may be the first one to give that person an atta-girl/boy because you are inspired by being around success thus feeling more driven as to your start to hone in better skills. However, if you are challenged by the job/life, frustrated because you cannot make “anything” you do work this can be a really drag of a day and you can start feeling a bit down on yourself. “I’m doing what they are doing, why is it not ‘working’ for me?”
The KEY to making this or any uncomfortable scenario more palatable can look something like following:
1. Don’t try to change yourself to fit in to someone else’s success story.
2. You are who you are so BE this person who you are and not like someone else.
3. Find you uniqueness…what are you really good at? Make a list and look for your sweet spots.
4. Start each new day by visualizing the high road and see yourself on it. Where are you going? What does it look like? See the smile of confidence on your face.
I’m a huge advocate of meditation as many of my readers already know. For me it not only helps to alleviate stress along with a laundry list of other healing modalities but by dampening down the stress it, in turn, gives me much more clarity. Simply noted if we don’t have some outlet to decompress, we are adding insult to injury. Look at it as adding another piece of junk to an already overcrowded room full of angst, frustration and confinement.
Journaling. A different kind of stress reducer. To some it may seem daunting because you are holding some expectation of what it entails to sit down and write. However, your input can be as condensed or elaborate as you wish. It’s YOUR JOURNAL! Make it work for you! Purge some of the redundant going-nowhere thoughts taking up space in your mind; start a gratitude journal; make your dream list, etc. Oh, so many things to write about with you and your happiness in mind!
In school we had an assignment to write 3 intentions on which to focus and set them up on a calendar or an excel sheet or whatever felt right for us. Then each day for two weeks we would check mark our follow through next to each item. At the end of the 2 weeks we could literally see how we did or didn’t accomplish what we set out to do. We could also JOURNAL or MEDITATE ON why we did what we did and what we could do differently going forward. (Remember everything we take on new takes time, practice and possibly recalibrating so keep doing this exercise until it becomes a way of being/doing).
And this is important also…visual clues are your mainstay for intentions because by actually ‘seeing’ in print what we are thinking we can get a much better grasp on the reality and true essence of our intention.
Look inward and dedicate a particular time each day to assign a 20/30-minute reprieve to be still…hush…and focus on creating a new perspective as to where you, intuitively feel and see your life going forward. By using these examples or similar techniques while always focusing in on nurturing and unraveling your uniqueness you may find yourself being the one your present or future manager…or you as a manager, become the one who others will strive to be like.
Here's to your brilliance and uniqueness unfolding,
